Frequently Asked Questions
What is Pilates Hub?
Pilates Hub is a Group Reformer Pilates studio combining live instruction with MirroA visual guidance. MirroA helps you see what's coming next while your instructor focuses on your movement, technique and individual needs.
What makes Pilates Hub different?
It's a group class designed to feel personal.
MirroA provides clear visual guidance throughout the workout, giving your instructor more time to observe, correct, explain and help the people in the room.
I've never done Reformer Pilates. Can I come?
Absolutely.
You don't need previous Reformer experience. Before your first class, we'll introduce you to the equipment and show you how everything works.
What happens before my first class?
Please arrive at least 15 minutes early.
We'll introduce you to your Reformer, cover the essential equipment and safety basics, and show you how to follow your class on MirroA.
You don't need to remember everything — your instructor and MirroA will continue to guide you throughout class.
What is MirroA?
MirroA is Pilates Hub's visual guidance system.
It shows the exercise, setup, springs, timing, breathing and other useful information while your instructor focuses on the people in the room.
Does MirroA replace the instructor?
No — it's designed to give your instructor more time for you.
MirroA shows you where we're going. Your instructor guides you through how to get there.
Is Pilates Hub basically a video workout?
No.
Your class is led by a live Pilates instructor. MirroA simply provides the visual reference so your instructor doesn't have to spend the entire class repeatedly demonstrating every movement.
How do you provide personal attention in a group class?
MirroA handles much of the repeated visual demonstration, allowing your instructor to spend more time moving through the room, observing clients and providing individual instruction.
How many people are in a class?
There are 14 Reformer stations at Pilates Hub, so classes can have up to 14 clients.
How long is a class?
Each class is 50 minutes.
What's the difference between Foundation and Flow?
Foundation gives you more space to understand setup, technique and movement.
Flow moves more continuously and assumes greater familiarity with the Reformer and common transitions.
Is Foundation only for beginners?
No.
It's a great place to begin, but it's also a good choice whenever you want more time to focus on technique, control and movement quality.
Do I eventually need to move from Foundation to Flow?
No.
There's nothing you need to graduate from. You may prefer Foundation, Flow, or a combination of both.
Do I need to be flexible to start Pilates?
No.
Flexibility isn't a prerequisite. You begin with the mobility you have today.
What if I haven't exercised in a long time?
You don't need to get fit before coming to Pilates.
Start with Foundation, work at a level that feels manageable and take breaks whenever you need them.
What if I can't do an exercise?
That's okay.
Your instructor can help adjust the movement, range, resistance or setup when appropriate.
Can I take a break during class?
Absolutely.
Take the time you need and come back when you're ready. You don't need to keep moving simply because everyone around you is moving.
Is Pilates supposed to leave me exhausted?
Not necessarily.
We believe a class can be challenging without being punishing. Exhaustion isn't how we measure whether a workout was effective.
How often should I come?
There's no single number that works for everyone.
Choose a frequency that realistically fits your life and that you can return to consistently.
What if I haven't been to class in a while?
Come back when it works for you.
You don't need to explain your absence and there's no “starting over.”
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing that lets you move freely and that you feel comfortable exercising in.
Do I need grip socks?
Yes. Grip socks are required for Pilates Hub classes.
What should I bring?
Bring grip socks and water. Your Reformer and the equipment used during class are provided.
Are your instructors certified?
Yes. Pilates Hub instructors are required to hold recognized Reformer Pilates certification and current First Aid/CPR certification.
